Seed swaps
Swap saved seeds and chat about what's growing well this year. The best way to meet other growers and pick up varieties suited to our soil.
Plots, produce and community — grown together, one bed at a time.
Green Furlong is a community-run allotment site where local growers tend full, half and quarter plots. Whether you're after vegetables, fruit, flowers or just the peace of a day's digging, there's a plot with your name on it.
We're governed by an elected committee and funded through plot rents. Everyone pitches in at communal working parties — hedging, path maintenance, shared tasks that keep the whole site thriving.
It's more than a patch of earth — it's access to a whole growing community.
A full, half or quarter plot sized to suit your plans. Dig it, nurture it, grow what you love. Your boundaries, your rules.
Water points dotted around the site and a communal shed stocked with tools. No need to lug everything yourself — help is there when you need it.
A shared compost area keeps waste from the neighbourhood out of landfill. And plenty of fellow growers ready with tips, seeds and sometimes a surplus courgette or two.
From first-time plotters to committee veterans, there's someone who's been where you are now. Gardening questions, neighbour chat, or a shared brew — it's all here.
You don't need experience or a plot to pitch in.
Get your name down for a plot. When one comes free, we'll be in touch.
Show up, lend a hand with hedge-cutting or path maintenance, meet the growers. No plot needed.
See what everyone's grown, judge the competitions, enjoy the community. Open to all.
Help keep the compost bins running smoothly. Give what time you can — every hand matters.
Green Furlong follows the seasons. Here are the calendar landmarks everyone looks for.
